TANZANIA HAS THE MOST THREATENED BIODIVERSITY OF ANY COUNTRY ON THE AFRICAN CONTINENT.
Despite 35% of the Tanzania’s land being protected, much of its wildlife is located outside those protected areas. Wild animals face threats from encroaching development, human-wildlife conflict, extreme weather, habitat loss, and more.
In Tanzania's eastern zone, the number of injured and orphaned wild animals has been growing in recent years, presenting a critical challenge. Currently, there is no response in Tanzania dedicated to rescuing wild animals harmed by these threats.

Wild Rescue Tanzania, in partnership with the Tanzania Wildlife Authority (TAWA), is establishling Tanzania’s first national Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre. Set to become a cornerstone of wildlife conservation in Tanzania, it will boast facilities dedicated to the rehabilitation, care, and study of wildlife.
PROJECT TIMELINE
With the backing of the Tanzanian government, we have a solid foundation to drive our conservation efforts forward. However, your support is crucial in ensuring the success of our endeavours.
Our primary requirement for support is funding. While the Tanzanian Government has generously allocated 4% of the total project budget for game rangers, professionals, and conservation experts, we still need USD $3.6 million in unrestricted funding to bring this project to life.
